There is talk of a third race but it is to be annouced.
In case you where wondering yes there will be camping on the race weekends only! There will be a low fee per night. to pay for restroom rental's and other things I wil post fees soon.
All camping is on first come first serve basis.
Where asking everyone to respect all camping rules. we almost lost camping this year at the race's lets work together to keep it for all races to come. thank you chris

well iam going to talk to willamette pass about what we can do on fires. iam guessing that the fire banned will be in affect by race time.
well the plan was first to run everyone down sport due to the expert course being very damaged. The two Expert Courses are closed until after the Volunteer Work Party on July 11-12th. - top expert it probaly closed for good.
so please respect the mountain and no one ride it. its raw and knarly this year theres all kinds of new rocks and roots and everything on it is a foot taller. but it sounds like by race time the top expert will have a reroute. just like sancez has had. and sport also.
camping will be $10 pernight per vehicle
money goes torward restrooms and future events at willamette pass |

The Coalition is currently working with Willamette Pass to upgrade and repair trails. We joined forces a little late. We realized that the Pass staff and a small handfull of WARP members where overwhelmed with work. D.H.C is basicly trying to fill in the gaps where needed. We will be providing some rider swag for races. We will hosting camping, and providing the portable toilettes. ( Due to new forest service regulations bathrooms must be provided to allow camping.) We will also now will be more involved in course line selection. Some line choices will be addressed, and we will continue doing our best to work with the staff at Willamette Pass to insure the best possible trails.
Not everything has been perfect but the staff at the pass and members of Warp have been working very hard. D.H.C thanks them. Any progress is good.
THE BOMB!
So it appears that the pass has double booked itself. Yes it was a mistake. The weekend of Aug 8th-9th, there will be a car AUTO CROSS race in the parking lot of Willamette Pass. Mountain Bike Racers will have to camp in the overflow parking lot.
CAMPING RACE WEEKEND WILL BE FREE! D.H.C will be donating the bathrooms. Donations are welcome, but we cannot justify charging people for someone elses mistake. REGISTRATION will still be required. Hope to see everyone on the hill. Thank you. |
